Who we are
Corey Albertson
Founder & CEO | Chase The Horizon
Corey Albertson founded Chase The Horizon with one simple belief: financial hardship should never be the reason someone is unable to pursue a career in emergency medicine.
After earning his National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) certification in 2025 and becoming a Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Instructor, Corey witnessed firsthand the challenges many aspiring EMS and other public safety professionals face. While completing his EMT education, he saw classmates work tirelessly toward their certification, only to struggle after failing the National Registry exam. For some students, the cost of retesting created a barrier they simply couldn't overcome, delaying or ending their dream of becoming first responders.
That experience became the foundation for Chase The Horizon.
Amy Dorner
Law Enforcement & EMS Liason | Chase The Horizon
Amy Dorner has served as a law enforcement officer for more than 13 years and earned her National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) certification in 2015. Her experience in both public safety and emergency medical services gives her a unique perspective on the challenges first responders face throughout their careers.
As the Law Enforcement & EMS Liaison for Chase The Horizon, Amy helps build relationships with first responders, community organizations, and volunteers who share the nonprofit's mission. She serves in this role as a private individual and is passionate about expanding opportunities for future EMTs and emergency service professionals.
Chase the Horizon was founded by individuals who have lived the realities of public safety, emergency response, and high-responsibility professions where expectations are high, stakes are real, and support is often limited.
Through firsthand experience in emergency services, leadership, and education, we’ve seen how capable, motivated people can be lost not because of lack of ability, but because of financial strain, unclear feedback, and a lack of meaningful remediation during training and certification processes.
Chase the Horizon exists to bridge that gap. We focus on practical skill development, mentorship, and financial assistance to help individuals overcome setbacks, stay on track, and continue serving their communities. Our work is rooted in respect for the profession and a belief that strong systems are built by supporting the people willing to step forward.
We don’t replace existing institutions we strengthen the path through them.
